Catching Up

Now that I've got this blog template just about the way I like it, it's time to catch up with Survivor.

Survivor Cook Islands
In case you missed it somehow, this edition of Survivor will start with the Survivors divided by race into four groups. This has caused a bit of an uproar but I don't think that it's any big deal. They will probably be divided racially for just the first few days (the first episode aired) - sort of like when contestants were divided into groups of older men, younger men, older women and younger women.

In other Cook Islands news, General Motors is no longer a sponsor. And just when they stopped giving away the ugly Pontiac Aztek (thankfully no longer in production) and started to give away a real SUV. I wonder if there will still be a car award this season?

Past Survivors of Note
Richard Hatch is in jail. He started prison in New England but has been transfered to a federal prison in Oklahoma. Hatch maintains his innocence and "is spending his time behind bars chronicling his life's experiences, beginning from the time he applied to be on Survivor." His scheduled release date is currently Oct. 7, 2009. More info at E! Online.

This summer Survivor Thailand winner Brian Heidik was arrested for shooting a puppy with a bow and arrow.

Stephenie LaGrossa (Palau, Guatemala) married Michael Ward July 7, 2006. The couple were wed in a traditional Catholic ceremony dahnashure1 where they met (aahhh, how romantic). Links: wedding at People magazine and Stephenie's official web page.

1. dahnashure That's Philadelphia slang for 'down the shore,' meaning the New Jersey beach communities. Here's your homework, translate this: D'jeet yet? No, d'jew?

Next Update: In the next few days I'll give you my initial impressions of the Cook Islands Survivors.

Funny about the car. It was also interesting (in the Australian Cut of it anyway) that they didn't mention the Car Curse last year!

Looking forward to it starting here but no date yet that I have seen. Have you heard anything in the sources you have looked at about when Channel 9 in Australia might show it?

Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately, as of the 14th of September, I will be unable to visit your fine site in case of hearing of news of how the series is going. I am not holding out much hope this year on not hearing results.

And from an email that I received from channel 9, it sounds like they will be holding it off till later in the year.

That's too bad Molly, but my blog will be here when it airs in Australia.

Can you watch it online at http://www.cbs.com/innertube/ ?

Hmmmm... Could be interesting. Maybe. I work for a US company and as such, have access from home via a US IP address. Might work! Is it free or payed service?
